Tom graduated from Wake Forest University in 2006 and received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Widener University School of Law in 2009. Later in 2009, he passed the North Carolina Bar Exam on his first attempt, and was subsequently admitted to the North Carolina State Bar. Since then, he has represented individuals in a wide range of personal injury claims, including motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, Workers' Compensation, state tort claims, insurance bad faith, and Social Security Disability benefits. He's handled all aspects of these claims, from the initial intake to hearings and trials.
After working for another law firm for ten years, Tom founded the Law Office of Thomas W. Gooden, PLLC in 2019, with a focus on Social Security Disability and estate planning. He has represented hundreds of individuals in their claims for Social Security Disability Insurance and SSI benefits before the SSA and is passionate about getting his clients the benefits they deserve.

Tom's practice is based in his hometown of Mooresville, NC but he represents individuals from all over North Carolina. When he isn't in court or at the office, Tom enjoys travelling and going to theme parks with his wife Margaret and young son Wesley.
